NMSBIC Updates Terms and Funds for RCAC
The New Mexico Small Business Investment Corporation voted at its February 2026 board meeting to modify funding for Rural Community Assistance Program (RCAC) and update the terms of its financial agreement. The vote enables RCAC’s use of $3 million of NMSBIC funds in rural areas of New Mexico.
RCAC is a 48-year-old organization headquartered in West Sacramento, CA, that serves 13 Western states, including New Mexico. One lender and multiple water system technical assistance specialists are based in New Mexico.
RCAC’s Small Business Loan Program enables businesses to retain or create jobs that improve the economic condition of rural communities. It offers lines of credit, short-term loans for working capital, and long-term loans for business needs such as real estate and equipment. Business loans are tailored to the needs of the business, and RCAC offers flexible terms. Its loans are often USDA guaranteed. It also originates unguaranteed small business loans up to $250,000.
