The NMSBIC is governed by seven board members, six of whom are appointed by the governor and approved by the Senate, and a representative from the Office of the State Treasurer. Board members do not receive compensation for their time but are reimbursed for direct expenses related to board duties. Because the NMSBIC uses the skills, expertise and staff of lending and equity partners, it has no offices or employees of it own. The Board contracts for its legal, accounting and financial advisory services.
